NEW BEDFORD ? Firefighters are on the scene of a heating oil spill on Park Street where officials say a delivery was made about 2 p.m. by Guard Oil Co. to a home heated by natural gas.

Preliminary reports are that about 27 gallons of oil were pumped into a pipe that was not connected to any tank, with the oil ending up on the basement floor.

Fire officials ordered the electricity and gas shut off because of the risk of fire.
